Eastern Pyrenees Trails

At 20 minutes from Perpignan in the village Illes-sur-Têt, nice walk to discover a masterpiece of nature, the "hoodoo" (earth pillar) with their impressive shapes and colors that varies according to the hours and weather.

The coastline of the Eastern Pyrenees has a sandy coast and a rocky coast.
The rocky coast extends to Spain.

Here is a part of this rocky coast with its small coves in pebble beach, the village of Collioure, the port town of Port Vendres with the lighthouse of Cape Bear.

At 5 minutes from Perpignan, near the village of Canet, between the sandy beach and the pond of Canet, there are small fishermen's huts built of wood and reeds. Ornithological zone and protected area, nice walk by observing the fauna and discovering the flora of the site.

Near the village of Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet 30 minutes from Perpignan there are gorges and the hermitage of Galamus. The hermitage of Galamus, built in a natural cavity of the cliff overhangs the canyon.

The eastern Pyrenees have 148 Dolmens throughout the region. A Dolmen is a monument most often megalithic, formed of a round chambers, covered by a stone slabs. It frequently housed collective burials.
These 2 Dolmens are located near the village of Saint-Michel-de-Llotes 20 minutes from Perpignan.

At 30 minutes by car from Perpignan, there is "La Caune" cave. A pleasant and easy family walk with the scent of thyme and rosemary.

The iron mine of Salver is a family walk in the forest without any difficulty, about 1 hour of walk. The iron mine of Salver is located near the village of Taurinya (66500) at the base of the Pyrenees mountains at 1 hour drive from Perpignan (66000).

Family walk with no difficulty, about 30 minutes walk.
The originality of this walk is the cave behind the Hermitage of "Notre Dame de Vie".
